At the Teen Choice Awards, fashion is fun! Instead of suave and sophisticated ball gowns, Young Hollywood stars and starlets wear colorful, offbeat outfits to stand out from the crowd. And this year was no different.
American Idol Jordin Sparks matched the blue carpet in a stripy shift by Bebe. The Vampire Diaries and Choice TV Actress in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi category, Nina Dobrev, looked like a work of art in a paint-splattered J. Mendel jumpsuit with an orange Devi Kroell clutch. Pretty Little Liar and Choice Summer TV Star Lucy Hale showed a tad more skin (tastefully, of course) in a Houghton crop top and skirt.
Prints and patterns were everywhere you turned this year. Hailee Steinfeld was patriotic with blue stars emblazoned on a red dress from House of Holland, while Kerry Washington’s Stella McCartney frock was embellished with rhinestone hearts, lips and matchsticks. Lily Collins looked tropical in Fausto Puglisi’s black-and-white palm trees. Demi Lovato was monochromatic, too, but she forewent a gown for a chic blazer.
Glee VIP, the heartbroken Lea Michele and Kickass badass Chloe Moretz both opted for bright pops of color, the former looking pretty in pink in Oscar de la Renta, and the latter all bandaged up in a graphic Christopher Kane. But we’ve got to give it to Pitch Perfect’s Rebel Wilson, who rocked up in a neon wetsuit that was more hilarious than haute.
Miley Cyrus may have won the Choice Summer Song award for “We Can’t Stop,” but the audience couldn’t stop staring at her edgy ensemble, which consisted of a Saint Laurent sheer top, leather bra, and studded miniskirt. We doubt Hanna Montana would have been allowed out of the house!
Drum roll, please: Our favorite look of the night was worn by Choice Summer Music Star Selena Gomez, who looked gorge in a green dress by Cushnie et Ochs, paired with Nicholas Kirkwood heels and Neil Lane jewelry.
